At Chicago First Church of the Nazarene we believe that worship is more about a way of living than it is the time that we spend together on weekends in the church building. We believe through scripture and experience that each person should be involved in regular time alone with God in private prayer and study of the Bible. We also know of the importance of meeting with a small group of people to talk about our relationships with God and to study the Bible together and to hold each other up in prayer. When God's people are spending time with Him on a regular basis and worshiping Him every day in the way that they live and think, that is the ultimate goal of our church. However, we also believe that it is vital for the Christian Believer to attend church on a regular basis. As we gather together on weekends we do so in the name of Jesus Christ our Savior. We also realize that when we do this, God's presence is among us. We understand that as we lift praises to God, that He inhabits those praises as we make a sanctuary in our hearts to Him.

We are very committed to the growth and spiritual education of children and teens as well. During all of our weekend worship opportunities and during our Wednesday night activities, we offer spiritual direction for children in our Kids First ministry and for our teens in the EDGE Student ministry. During these times Children and Teens are allowed to worship in ways that are fun and inspiring to them.
